Teleradiology is the transmission of radiologic images over high-speed telecommunication lines. Through the use of this technology, a scan can be performed at one site and then transmitted in a matter of minutes to another site for viewing and interpretation. This saves substantial time and money, and avoids the "lost films" issue that is all too familiar to those who have relied on courier services in the past.

At RSD, we offer teleradiology services that encompass more than just film interpretation. Our services are customized to meet the individual needs of our customers. We can provide assistance with patient billing, as well as information systems and networking support for teleradiology infrastructure. RSD's state-of-the-art Teleradiology Suite, located in the RSD main offices, allows our board certified, subspecialty trained Radiologists to interpret radiologic images from locations that are just down the street or across the country. We use voice recognition transcription technology to ensure that reports are accurate and back to the referring clinic in a timely fashion, later the same day in most cases.
