Overview
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses radio waves in combination with a strong magnetic field to provide detailed images of all parts of the body, including the heart, blood vessels, soft tissue and joints, and internal organs. MRI is capable of imaging the body in multiple planes or sections, which can greatly assist physicians in evaluating the function as well as the structure of organs. MRI is one of the best imaging choices for examining the body's major joints, including the spine, knees and shoulder and it is increasingly used for evaluating brain function.
RSD offers expert image interpretation from Radiologists that have advanced and sub specialized training in Musculoskeletal, Neurological, and Abdominal MRI. Our Radiologists are committed to providing prompt interpretation and rapid reporting. James Piko, D.O., Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology, enjoys close working relationships with Orthopedic surgeons and Athletic Trainers from professional sports teams such as the Denver Nuggets basketball team and the Colorado Avalanche hockey team.
